Do you care more about what people think than how they look? Or whom they date? Or what they post? Then this blog is for you. We started “girl” as an alternative to typical zines for young women. Produced through a pilot program at Lincoln School in Providence R.I., the publication aims to tackle cultural issues and to have smart fun (we use Snapchat as much as the next Gen Z-er). Yes, it’s digital. No, it’s not an ode to celebs and selfies. With documentarian Lauren Greenfield as our inspiration (she visited Lincoln!), we focused this inaugural issue on the loose theme “like a girl.” We hope the articles entertain and empower you.
The staff reviews notes from girls expressing the change they want to see in the world.
